Description
Down Cathedral (in the far distance, photographed from the ruins of Inch Abbey, Downpatrick, Co. Down, Northern Ireland. Inch Abbey was established as a Cistercian house by John de Courcy and his wife Affrica in 1180. Inch was built as an act of repentance for the destruction of the Abbey at Erinagh (or Erenagh) (3 miles (4.8km) to the south) by de Courcy in 1177. Down Cathedral, where St. Patrick's grave is, can be seen in the distance.
