Artist's Description
Saul Church, Downpatrick, County Down, Northern Ireland. It is claimed that when St Patrick came to Ireland in 432 the local chieftain gave him a barn for holding services on the site where the church is now situated. Allegedly Patrick died at Saul and his reputed grave is at Down Cathedral, Downpatrick, nearby.
